University of Manchester Open Days 2026: What Should Visitors Know?

University of Manchester Open Days 2026 will take place on campus this autumn on Saturday, 3 October and Saturday, 10 October. The Open Days give prospective students an opportunity to explore the university, learn more about different subjects and visit key areas across campus.

University staff and student ambassadors have also answered some of the most common questions to help visitors prepare for the day.

Open Day Dates and Times

The University of Manchester autumn Open Days will take place on:

•  Saturday, 3 October 2026

•  Saturday, 10 October 2026

The Open Day runs from 9:15 AM to 4:00 PM. Most subject talks take place between approximately 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM.

Some talks may run once, while others may be repeated during the day, allowing visitors to plan their schedule around the sessions they want to attend.

Subject Talks and Exhibitions

Different subject talks and exhibitions take place throughout the day. Visitors can explore university buildings and learn more about their chosen subjects. A general university exhibition will also take place in the Alan Turing Building between 9:15 AM and 3:30 PM.

Tickets are not required for individual talks, although some sessions can become busy. The university recommends arriving around 20 minutes early for popular talks.

How Can Visitors Access the Programme?

Printed copies of the programme are not available.

Information about talks, exhibitions and activities across campus can be accessed through the Visit UoM app. Visitors can use the app to download the programme and plan their schedule for the day.

Support Around Campus

University staff and student ambassadors will be available throughout the Open Day to help visitors.

Student ambassadors will be wearing purple and can be found across campus and along Oxford Road. University staff will also be available at the welcome desk in University Place. Visitors requiring additional support can contact [email protected]  before the event.

Check-In and Guests

Visitors do not need to check in at a specific location during the Open Day. However, the university recommends using the Open Day ticket included in the confirmation email.

Because the event is expected to be busy, visitors are generally encouraged to bring one guest. Some popular sessions may have limited capacity and may only allow prospective students or students with one guest.

Wi-Fi, Prayer and Quiet Spaces

Wi-Fi is available through Eduroam or UoMGuest. A prayer room and quiet room are available at Manchester Museum on Oxford Road. Visitors can ask museum staff for directions or support.

Travel and Luggage

Information about travelling to campus and parking is available through the Getting to Campus section of the Open Day app.

The university does not provide luggage storage on campus. Visitors who need this service can use luggage facilities available at Manchester Piccadilly railway station.

Changing or Cancelling an Open Day Booking

Visitors who need to cancel their place can do so through the Open Day ticket received in their confirmation email.

After cancelling, they may also be given the option to switch to the second Open Day date. Anyone who cannot find their ticket or needs support can contact [email protected]

The University of Manchester Open Days give prospective students an opportunity to explore the campus, attend subject talks and speak directly with students and university staff.

Planning ahead for the 3 and 10 October 2026 events, checking the app and choosing key sessions in advance can help visitors make the most of their Open Day experience.
