Western New England University
Western New England (WNE) University, which began as a campus of Northeastern University in 1919, has developed since 1951 into a university with international recognition. Ranked 11th among the 30 most beautiful campuses to visit in the fall, the Western New England campus is located in Springfield, Massachusetts, on a 87-acre site.
The university is a member of the Greater Springfield Collaborative College and a partner in the Hartford-Springfield Regional Information Corridor Initiative. The campus hosts over 60 clubs and organizations, including honor societies, professional and departmental organizations, media and publications, special interest groups, the Student Senate, residence hall associations, and campus ministry groups. Notable societies include Alpha Kappa Delta, Alpha Lambda Delta, Alpha Phi Sigma, Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma, Lambda Pi Eta, Harç Board, Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Alpha Theta, Pi Sigma Alpha, Psi Chi, and Tau Beta Pi. Campus media include Cupola magazine, the Literature and Literature Review publication, GB-TV “Golden Bear Television” station, Western News newspaper, and WNEK-FM 105.1 radio station. Political groups include WNE College Republicans and University Democrats.
