Widener University

Widener University

Widener University was founded in 1821 by John Bullock as the "Bullock School for Boys" and in 1862 transformed into a higher education institution in Pennsylvania. Over time, it developed into a private university recognized for its strong programs in engineering, healthcare, social work, and its prestigious law schools. The university offers a wide spectrum of academic programs and holds strong accreditations. Its primary accreditor is the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, while specialized accreditations include ABET for engineering, AACSB for business, and others for healthcare fields. One of Widener’s main advantages is its small class sizes (the majority of classes have fewer than 20 students) and state-of-the-art facilities, such as robotics labs, medical simulation centers, and a TV studio. Student life is active, with more than 100 clubs, student-run radio and television, athletic teams, and community service initiatives.
