A Truly International Approach
One of the defining strengths of the University Foundation Programme is its global perspective. Rather than focusing solely on institutions with progression agreements, students benefit from personalized guidance that helps them identify universities and programmes that match their academic interests, career goals, and long-term ambitions. Through individual support, expert knowledge of international admissions systems, and tailored university counselling, students are encouraged to explore opportunities across different countries and educational systems. This approach enables students to make informed decisions about their future while increasing access to some of the world’s most respected universities.
Preparing Students for University Success
The University Foundation Programme at St Clare’s Oxford is a one-year academic pathway designed specifically for international students who plan to continue their education at university level in the UK or abroad. The programme combines intensive academic English language preparation with subject-specific pathways, allowing students to build both language proficiency and academic knowledge before beginning undergraduate studies.
Students can choose pathways in areas such as:
- Business
- Politics
- Psychology
- Mathematics
In addition to subject-specific learning, the programme develops essential university-level skills through modules that include:
- Global Issues
- Law
- Statistics
- Academic Writing
- Critical Thinking
- Research Skills
Small class sizes, personalised academic support, and dedicated university guidance ensure that students are fully prepared for the expectations of higher education.
