Founded in 1966, the Western Australian Institute of Technology is a current Curtin University located in Perth, one of the safest cities in Australia. The largest university in Western Australia, with more than 40,000 students, is one of the leading universities in the world.
According to QS World University, Curtin University is among the world's 300 best universities. In addition, it was ranked among the 500 best universities by the Ranking of World Universities in 2010. The University's Chemical Engineering Faculty was ranked first in the World University Rankings in 2011.
