Founded in 1994 by the Sabanci Foundation, Sabanci University's main goal is to gain the value of a "world university". In 1999, Sabanci became a model for other universities in terms of student enrollment.
Sabanci University's faculties of Computer Science, General Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Physics and Astronomy, Mathematics and Statistics, and Chemistry occupy leading positions in the world rankings.
