Founded in the city of Christchurch in 1873, Canterbury University was established by Oxford and Cambridge University scientists. Canterbury University is the second oldest university of New Zealand. The university is funded by The New Zealand government and it is ranked among the top 250 universities by the QS World University in (2012). Canterbury University is the first New Zealand University which received 5 star degrees for research, teaching and infrastructure in the QS star rating
system. It was ranked top 200 at the “Eduniversal Master Ranking Office 2012” in Oceania (for Management, Marketing, and International Business programs). Nearly 21% of students are international students. The University campus is offered high quality educational services with suitable prices for all students. The main campus, covering 87 hectares is dedicated to the use of various facilities, including libraries and reading halls, laboratories, research centers. There are also health centers, fully equipped sports / fitness centre, shopping center and hostel for the 12,000 students.
