Manitoba University was founded in 1877 as the Canadian State University in Winnipeg. It is the largest university in the state of Manitoba. Manitoba University is the first university in Western Canada. Manitoba University is the largest university in the region, is one of the top 500 universities in the world by Webometrics. The University of Manitoba is aimed to develop educational environment with more than 25,000 students and nearly 8,000 faculty members.
